👉Today’s alert is Serina Therapeutics Inc. (NYSE: SER)👈
Serina Therapeutics has reached a pivotal stretch for investors. The company recently secured access to up to $25 million in additional equity financing through an agreement with Roth Principal Investments, giving Serina the option—but not the obligation—to sell newly issued shares over a period of up to 36 months. That financing flexibility arrives just as its lead Parkinson’s candidate, SER-252, moves deeper into a registrational Phase 1b study. Serina reported $23.0 million in cash at June 30, 2026.
Advanced Parkinson’s disease remains difficult to manage because patients can develop increasingly unpredictable periods when levodopa stops controlling symptoms effectively, known as motor fluctuations or “OFF” time. Continuous subcutaneous apomorphine can reduce these fluctuations, but existing infusion approaches can bring practical and tolerability problems, including injection-site irritation and skin nodules. Serina is attempting to address that bottleneck with SER-252, a POZ-apomorphine formulation engineered to provide continuous dopaminergic stimulation with more controlled drug release. The company says preclinical work supports the possibility of delivering this continuous exposure without the skin reactions seen with conventional approaches, although that benefit still needs to be demonstrated in clinical trials.

🚀Explosive Catalysts
SER-252 Completes First Clinical Cohort Ahead of Schedule — July 23, 2026
Serina completed enrollment and dosing of all eight patients in Cohort 1 of its Phase 1b registrational trial of SER-252 for advanced Parkinson’s disease. Importantly, the company accomplished the milestone ahead of its previously stated end-of-Q3 2026 target. The trial now moves through protocol-defined safety review and dose-escalation decisions, with top-line data from the single-ascending-dose portion targeted for the first half of 2027.
FDA Clears SER-252 IND and Registrational Trial Begins — January–February 2026
The FDA cleared Serina's Investigational New Drug application for SER-252 in January 2026, allowing the Parkinson's program to move into U.S. clinical development. Serina subsequently enrolled and dosed the first patient in February. The significance is amplified by earlier FDA feedback supporting development under the 505(b)(2) NDA pathway and recognizing the planned clinical program as registrational, potentially offering a more streamlined development route than a completely novel drug program.
Serina Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, developing neurological therapies and other drug candidates using its proprietary POZ Platform™. POZ is based on poly(2-oxazoline), a synthetic, water-soluble polymer that Serina uses to alter how therapeutic compounds are loaded, released and maintained in the bloodstream. Its lead program is SER-252 for advanced Parkinson's disease, while the company is also developing SER-270, a long-acting VMAT2 inhibitor program aimed primarily at tardive dyskinesia. The platform also has potential applications in RNA therapeutics and antibody-drug conjugates.
💎 Why This Company Stands Out
What makes Serina unusual isn't simply that it is developing another Parkinson's drug—it is attempting to optimize drugs whose biological activity is already relatively well understood. Rather than relying entirely on discovering new drug targets, the POZ Platform is designed to modify pharmacokinetics, providing greater control over drug loading and release so established therapeutics may potentially maintain more consistent blood concentrations, reduce dose-related problems and become easier to administer. That approach could potentially apply well beyond Parkinson's disease: Serina has identified applications across small molecules, RNA medicines and ADCs, and has previously established a non-exclusive POZ polymer technology license with Pfizer for lipid nanoparticle formulations.
For SER-252 specifically, the investment thesis increasingly centers on whether Serina can combine the known effectiveness of continuous apomorphine exposure with a better tolerability and pharmacokinetic profile. If upcoming human data begin validating that premise, the POZ platform could become more interesting not just as a Parkinson's program, but as a broader drug-delivery technology.
