👉Today’s alert is GT Biopharma Inc. (NASDAQ: GTBP)👈

GT Biopharma has suddenly become one of the more interesting low-float biotech names to watch. Shares of GTBP closed up 39.3% on September 11, 2026, the same day the company hosted a live presentation highlighting its TriKE® natural killer-cell engager platform and the progress of its two active Phase 1 programs. Management said its GTB-3650 blood-cancer study is reaching dose levels where it hopes to begin seeing clinical activity, while GTB-5550 is testing the platform against B7-H3-positive solid tumors. There is also a major structural change investors should know about: GTBP completed a 1-for-25 reverse stock split effective September 8, 2026, leaving the stock with a dramatically smaller post-split share count.

Cancer immunotherapy has produced major breakthroughs, but some approaches - especially personalized cell therapies can involve complicated manufacturing, lengthy treatment logistics, high costs and intensive clinical infrastructure. GT Biopharma is attacking that bottleneck differently. Its TriKE platform is a protein-based NK-cell engager rather than a manufactured cell therapy, designed to connect a patient's existing natural killer cells to specific disease targets while incorporating IL-15 to stimulate NK-cell activation and proliferation. GTB-5550 is particularly interesting because the Phase 1 program is testing a subcutaneous treatment in an outpatient setting, with management ultimately exploring whether treatment schedules could become increasingly patient-friendly. If the approach proves safe and effective, that could give GTBP a potentially simpler way to exploit NK-cell biology without needing to manufacture individualized immune cells.

⚙️The Technicals

🚀Explosive Catalysts

GTB-5550 Enters the Clinic With First Patient Dosed (May 14, 2026)
  • GT Biopharma announced that the first patient had been dosed in its Phase 1 GTB-5550 trial, making GTB-5550 the third TriKE candidate to reach clinical development. The drug targets B7-H3, an antigen found across multiple types of solid tumors, and the dose-escalation basket trial can enroll patients with several B7-H3-expressing cancers. The program represents a major expansion for GTBP beyond blood cancers and into the substantially larger solid-tumor market.

FDA Clears GTB-5550 IND for B7-H3 Solid Tumors (February 3, 2026)
  • The FDA cleared GT Biopharma's Investigational New Drug application for GTB-5550, giving the company authorization to advance the therapy into human testing. The Phase 1 protocol permits enrollment across multiple B7-H3-positive solid tumors, with the company initially highlighting advanced prostate, ovarian and pancreatic cancers in patients who have exhausted standard treatment options. The clearance was particularly important because it validated GTBP's ability to move another TriKE molecule from its platform into the clinic.

GT Biopharma is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing immuno-oncology therapies built around its proprietary TriKE® natural killer-cell engager platform. TriKE molecules are designed to bring NK cells into contact with specific cancer cells while simultaneously stimulating those NK cells through an IL-15 component. Its clinical pipeline includes GTB-3650 for CD33-positive leukemias such as acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome, and GTB-5550 for B7-H3-positive solid tumors. GT Biopharma holds an exclusive worldwide license agreement with the University of Minnesota covering development and commercialization of therapies using the TriKE technology.

💎 Why This Company Stands Out

The most intriguing part of GTBP's technology may be its platform architecture rather than any single drug candidate. Two major components of the TriKE can remain largely constant—the NK-cell-engaging CD16 component and IL-15 stimulation—while GT Biopharma can change the disease-targeting binder. GTB-3650 targets CD33 in blood cancers, GTB-5550 targets B7-H3 in solid tumors, and the company is also exploring a CD19-targeted approach for autoimmune disease. That modular structure potentially allows GTBP to reuse much of the same technological foundation across multiple indications. The company is also integrating AI-based structural modeling into candidate discovery in an effort to reduce trial-and-error laboratory work and move additional candidates toward pre-IND development. What makes GTBP worth watching is therefore the possibility that successful validation of one TriKE program could strengthen the credibility of a much broader platform—not simply one experimental drug.
